More revelations are unfolding in the Doris Simon and Daniel Adenimokan's troubled marriage as the drama continued in the courtroom last Friday. The divorce matter which has been in the Lagos High Court since November 29, 2012 is said to have prompted Doris to demand for the custody of her son, David, dissolution of the marriage just as her lawyers are pressing criminal charges against Daniel for presenting a fake divorce paper conceding the custody of the five years old boy to himself.
Daniel's lawyer, Gbenga Olugbafe appeared for him for the first time and was adequately served the papers by Doris' lawyer, Bosun Oshifowora. Doris lawyers had gone ahead to investigate the authenticity of the divorce papers and found that it was forged, an action considered criminal. The divorce paper had no signature of any judge. Daniel, according to sources close to him had claimed he hired a lawyer to obtain a divorce paper for him but did not know it was a forged document that was given to him. Forgery is a crime that attracts jail term.
Doris, according to her friends is apparently unruffled. “She's confident that she will get the custody of her son. The boy is not six years old and she can be better taken care of by his mother.”
Meanwhile, if the ongoing investigation by Doris' team of lawyers proved that Daniel and star actress, Stella Damasus are an item; she will be joined in the divorce suit.
The matter has been postponed to July 1, 2013.
